LoveLincoln took a visit to BEAR in the Cornhill Quarter, a great centrally located venue that has the added benefit of being open from 8am when most spots don't open until 9 am.

The large, open layout with double-height ceilings really gives this coffee shop a light, airy and peaceful vibe that contrasts with the trend for dark and intimate cafés, making BEAR a great location for a meeting or to work on a laptop and make the most of the floods of natural light from the full-height front glazing.

The big difference, of course, is that BEAR isn't just a coffee shop or a café serving food, but stays open until 6 pm Monday to Thursday and 7 pm on Friday and Saturday, tapping into the after-work social scene with a licensed bar and a range of favourite cocktails.

LoveLincoln stopped only for a trademark early morning Flat White, opting for the house bean, the Hometown Blend (Honduras & Brazil) "roasted to pair beautifully with milk but just as good without". A really nice coffee with some character and likely to be a popular favourite.

The food offering ticks most boxes, covering traditional breakfast and brunch options for the morning and then, from midday an array of burgers, wraps and sandwiches. Something LoveLincoln will be sure to head back to try, we've particularly got our eyes on the Hot Honey Chicken Burger with a side of Tater Tots!
