Trick or treat, then fireworks: Fireworks Fantasia comes to the Showground
Halloween falls on a Saturday this year. For plenty of Lincoln families that means choosing between trick-or-treating round the streets and a proper night out. Fireworks Fantasia & Halloween Spooktacular at the Lincolnshire Showground on Saturday 31 October means you don't have to choose.
Gates open at 4pm, so there's time to do the rounds on your street first. Then head up to the showground with the kids still in costume and make a whole evening of it: witches, pumpkins and skeletons under the fireworks.
Gala Fireworks put on two displays. The junior display at 6.30pm is timed for younger children, and the main display is at 9pm. In between there's a family funfair, the Broke FMX motorbike stunt team, live music from The Highlights, and monster truck rides you book on the day. Shrek drops in for meet-and-greets through the evening. A catering court has food and drink, and you're welcome to bring your own.
Tickets
Booked online in advance, an adult is £17, a child aged 5 to 15 is £11, and a family ticket for two adults and three children is £45. On the gate the same tickets are £20, £15 and £55. Under 5s go free, parking is free, and every price includes VAT and booking fees. Advance sales close on the Friday evening before the show, so book by Friday 30 October to pay the lower price.
Good to know
Dogs aren't allowed, except assistance dogs, and please don't bring sparklers or fireworks. The fields are uneven grass, so wellies or sturdy shoes are a good idea. Blue Badge holders have their own car park. The show closes at 10.30pm.
