Help support good mental health this Movember
Movember is next month, and it is a chance to shine a light on the support helping to improve men's mental wellbeing in Lincolnshire. People are also being asked to share their own recommendations.
Movember is an annual campaign to improve men's health, including their mental fitness. Alongside formal mental health services, a wide range of community groups across Lincolnshire offer support that can help reduce isolation, improve mental wellbeing and encourage men to seek help before reaching crisis point.
Examples include BroPro, a support group dedicated to creating a safe place for guys to meet and talk, and Boston Men's Shed, a space for social connection, friendship building, and sharing skills and knowledge. Further details of the community support available locally are on the HAY Lincolnshire website at https://haylincolnshire.co.uk.
Cllr Steve Clegg, Executive Councillor for Adult Care and Health, said: "Although people are now far more aware of the importance of good mental health, there are still some who find it difficult to seek support when they need it.
Movember is the ideal time to encourage conversations around mental health, reduce the stigma and highlight the support available."
Anyone who has been helped to feel connected by a local group, or whose life has been made better by a club, activity or support network, can share their story on the Let's Talk page at www.letstalk.lincolnshire.gov.uk/movemberinlincolnshire.
