Driving Change, One Swing at a Time

The LNAA x PING Charity Golf Day raised nearly £12,000 for Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance (LNAA) on 3 July, when 68 golfers stepped up to the tee to support the life-saving charity. Sponsored by PING, the day brought together businesses, supporters and golfing enthusiasts for fundraising and friendly competition.

Companies entered teams for the event, and the money raised will support LNAA's crews as they continue to deliver advanced pre-hospital emergency care across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire.

Players faced a hole-in-one challenge created by BMW, and unbelievably one of the golfers, David Bebbington sunk the hole in one, winning a brand new BMW!

On his spectacular achievement David said:

"I'm incredibly grateful for the amazing opportunity to take part, and to come away with a hole-in-one – something I never thought I'd achieve – along with such an incredible prize made it a truly unforgettable day."

Better Eggs set golfers the task of hitting an egg off a pole 40 yards from the tee, with a year's supply of eggs for the winner. It proved harder than it looked: only Gaius Powell from Wilkin Champman Rollits managed to break the egg, choosing to donate the cost of the eggs to charity rather than taking the prize.

Zulkurnine Smart, Corporate and Philanthropy Partnerships Manager, Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, said: "Building on the success of last year's inaugural event, it is wonderful to see the golf day continue to grow and establish itself as a staple of the corporate golfing calendar across the East Midlands. The funds raised will help us continue delivering lifesaving pre-hospital emergency care whenever and wherever it is needed."

Ian McCallum, Sponsorship and Events Marketing Manager, PING Europe, said: "We look forward to building on the success of this year's event and continuing our support for the lifesaving work of Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance."

Henry O'Connor, Founder of Better Eggs, said: "The work Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance does is extraordinary, and the reality is that any one of us could need them one day.

We wanted to bring something a little different to the event with the Better Eggs Challenge, and it was brilliant to see so many people getting involved."

LNAA is already looking ahead to next year's golf day, which takes place on 2 July 2027. Anyone interested in taking part can email partnerships@ambucopter.org.uk.
