Frightful fun this half-term with Halloween activities in Lincoln’s parks – City of Lincoln Council

Families can get into the Halloween spirit this half-term with a range of spooky activities at Hartsholme Country Park, Lincoln Arboretum and Boultham Park. From a creepy trail and pumpkin carving to making a home for local bats, there is something for children of all ages to enjoy while making the most of Lincoln's green spaces.

The Halloween Trail at Hartsholme Country Park runs from Tuesday 27 to Saturday 31 October. It challenges brave visitors to make their way through a creepy trail, with a ghoulish treat waiting for those who make it to the end. Families can collect a trail sheet from the Visitor Centre any time between 12pm and 3pm, with no booking required, and the trail costs £4.50 per child.

Children can also join the council's Park Rangers to design and carve their own Jack-o'-lanterns to help ward off evil spirits. There are three sessions: Lincoln Arboretum on Wednesday 28 October from 10am to 11.30am, Hartsholme Country Park on Wednesday 28 October from 1pm to 2.30pm, and Boultham Park on Thursday 29 October from 10am to 11.30am. Each session costs £4.50 per child and booking is essential.

For families looking to do something a little different, Hartsholme Country Park also hosts a bat box-making session on Thursday 29 October from 1pm to 2.30pm, in celebration of Bat Week. Children can learn how to support local wildlife by making a bat box, and families with bats in their area can use it to provide shelter in their garden. The session costs £9 per child and booking is essential.

Pumpkin carving and bat box-making sessions can be booked, and more information about the activities is available, by emailing hartsholmecp@lincoln.gov.uk or calling 01522 873735.
