For press
What to pitch us for
We publish in a handful of formats and they want quite different things. Naming the one you’re pitching for gets you a faster and a better answer.

New & Notable
Openings and launches. A date, a location, several photographs.
- What it is
- Covers retail establishments trading less than 12 months. Ideally a first look prior to or soon after opening for new businesses
- Who it suits
- Openings and launches. If your client is opening a door to the public, this is the one.
- What we need from you
- Opening date, location, what it is, and a set of photographs we can use, always more than one. Video always a bonus.
- What gets it turned down
- If pre-launch then we’ll convert to a coming soon story and then cover with New & Notable at launch for double coverage.

Lincoln Originals
The independents that make Lincoln special. We visit before we write.
- What it is
- Our map and record of the independent places that make Lincoln special, written up after we visit.
- Who it suits
- Independent retailers, small chains under the same ownership, pop-up/market retailers also considered
- What we need from you
- A reason it belongs, and an address. As with days out, we visit before we write.
- What gets it turned down
- Large chains and franchises, retailers not independently owned and online only businesses.

Great Days Out
Invite us. We visit, we cover it ourselves, and we publish the score.
- What it is
- A reviewed day out, visited and scored by us across five measures, in a family or a couples league. Low scoring days out ARE NOT PUBLISHED.
- Who it suits
- Attractions and venues that want to be visited particularly at a key period to maximise the score
- What we need from you
- An invitation, not a submission. We visit, we cover it ourselves, and we publish the score we give it.
- What gets it turned down
- Anything conditional. We do not agree coverage, copy approval or a minimum score in advance.

In development
Game Changers
Written Q&A with people who matter. Chosen, never bought.
- What it is
- A written Q&A with someone genuinely influential in their field or locality. The key-person coverage that is hard to come by locally.
- Who it suits
- Innovative, entrepreneurial or accomplished people with something to say, not simply something to announce.
- What we need from you
- A nomination and the case for it. We read all of them.
- What gets it turned down
- It cannot be bought, and a nomination is not a route in. Subjects are chosen editorially.
Formats you can’t pitch
Pin it! is a reader game and Lincoln Pulse is our own polling of readers. Neither takes submissions. Shout-outs are given by readers about places listed in Lincoln Originals, so they aren’t ours to place either.
Not sure?
Send it anyway with a line about what you think it is, to editor@lovelincoln.co.uk. We’d rather point you at the right format than have you not ask.
